Replacing winter tyres on a deserted road
It was nearly midnight and almost all of the passengers had fallen asleep. The night was cold and snowy, and driving was really hard, but nobody except the driver had to be worried about it. After all, it was his task to drive al his passengers to the destination safely and without unnecessary interruptions. It was difficult, but he kept on going. The windscreen wipers barely removed the snowflakes from the pane, and the road was nearly invisible. Suddenly the man heard a dull sound. Then the bus skidded. He had to braked really quickly and violently, so no wonder that all of the passengers woke up immediately. One of the winter tyres was flat. It was a bit strange. What kind of object might have punctured it on a deserted, snowy road? But soon it turned out it was a big nail. What could the driver do? He took some tools out of the boot and got down to work. Most of the people were just standing there, gazing at the man, unwilling to offer any help. Then one of the men approached the driver, took the jack and tried to lift the vehicle up with him. After that, two other passengers joined them. After all, they didn"t want to spend the whole night in the middle of nowhere. Soon they managed to replace the winter tyres and set off again.
